Buffered Peptone Water HQ (ISO) is a non-selective pre-enrichment medium used for the detection of Salmonella spp. in food, animal feed, and environmental samples, in accordance with ISO 6579-1:2017. It is designed to resuscitate sub-lethally damaged Salmonella cells, improving recovery prior to selective enrichment. The medium can be used with Salmonella Selective Supplement (NCM4000) as part of Neogen’s One Broth One Plate workflow. Its formulation includes peptone for essential nutrients, sodium chloride for osmotic balance, and phosphate buffers to maintain a stable pH of 7.0.
